The USA: Beacon of Democracy or Imperialist Aggressor? There are two fundamentally different worldviews expressed in this piece. One is that the USA represents freedom, peace and democracy and that those who oppose the US thus represent its opposite, bondage, war and dictatorship. That is the view of Washington and the neolib/neocon establishment. Most Americans have been brainwashed to believe it as well. The second worldview is that the USA represents the last great imperialist power that has vanquished all others and stands alone as a global hegemon wanting to enforce its will worldwide and impinge on the sovereignty and Independence of nation states to develop economically, politically and socially along their own path. It is this conflict in worldviews that is at the crux of the world crisis we have entered into.
