The USPS Inspector General released a proposal last month to add some financial services at post offices to help underserved americans. The main thrust is to offer competitive interest rates in response to the high rates offered by payday lenders and title loans. Certainly a different line of business for the Post Office to consider but if it can help offset the services budget gap then it may be worth exploring.
