The Ukrainian Womens Association of Australia Federal Executive, The Ukrainian Womens Association of NSW and The Ukrainian Council of NSW and invite you to a DEDICAТІОN AND BLESSING OF MEMORIAL TREE and MEMORIAL PLAQUE of the 80th Anniversary of the Holodomor Famine of 1932-33 in Ukraine, at One-More-Shot Pond, Centennial Park, Sydney on Wednesday 4th December, 2013 at 1100. See coordinate G5 on the Centennial Parklands Map at the Maps page on: centennialparklands.au/ A bus is being provided at no cost to community members from Lidcombe, leaving at 0930 from the Mary Street gate at the rear of the St Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 57 Church St, Lidcombe, returning about 1400. Booking required. Call 0410 866 820 before 1200 Friday 29th November. Parking available in Church car park. This project was realised by the efforts of the Ukrainian Womens Association State Executive, with active assistance from the Ukrainian Council Of NSW, from an initiative by the members of the O.Basarab Branch of the Ukrainian Womens Association of NSW. A Memorial Tree was planted in Centennial Park, Sydney in 1983 on the 50th Anniversary of the Holodomor Famine in 1932-33 in Ukraine, on the initiative of the Federal Executive of The Ukrainian Womens Association of Australia (President - Olena Shevchyk, PR Officer Halyna Danko) with the participationof the AFUO, The Ukrainian Council of NSW and Ukrainian Clergy. The tree was planted by then President of the National Council of Women of Australia Mrs Janet Peters.
