“The Unbelievers” with Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss … Yet another opinion. The program begins with a clip of Dawkins previous engagement with Cardinal Pell, a scientifically unqualified, religious leader. Shame on you, Dawkins!!!! Early in the program we see Lawrence Krauss deciding to make a point by having a discussion with Muslims. This segment stands on the back of Krauss suggesting he understands quantum mechanics and non scientifically qualified Muslims don‘t. Krauss, is a real hoot!!!! I suggest most people that call themselves atheists know about as much about quantum mechanics as the Muslims Krauss was talking to. The scientific establishment was surprised in finding that an object can be in two places at the same time. Theists were aware of this concept in God and we are pleased to hear the scientific establishment is beginning to understand it. The scientific community eagerly awaits Krauss’s paper that finally reconciles the theory of general relativity with quantum mechanics seeing as he states he understand it!!!. What is the purpose of the universe? Dawkins suggests this is a silly question. I suggest it is a question that science is not qualified to answer. That, in itself, does not make any question a ‘silly’ question. Such a question is a metaphysical question and above the realm of physics. Science in its current state can neither confirm or deny a purpose or intent to the creation of the universe any more than it can ‘prove’ my intention behind turning on an electric jug. What science appears to be doing is supporting that this universe had a beginning and in all likelihood its first state of existence was a form of incredible energy. Dawkins goes on to say we have to ‘make up’ our own meaning of life. I suppose that would be because he likes to play with answers to stupid questions that theists have no right to contemplate from a belief base not akin to his own. If Dawkins is not a hypocrite, no one is. Dawkins likes to bag out Adam and Christ. Dawkins and Krauss obviously have no clue that there are theistic evolutionists in existence, theists that have varying views of the Genesis account as well as very well credentialed scientists that are theists.. Eg John Sanford credited with the designing the gene gun. THE TRUTH: What is observed is that mankind alone seeks to understand the universe and can argue about the existence of a God. Intelligent aliens remain in the realm of science fiction with many believers offering statistical arguments and wishful thinking as to why mankind and the earth cannot possibly be special. Science cannot refute the existence of an intelligent creator. Science can shed light and offer scenarios as to how a creator , if there is one, can use the laws of nature and physics to create. Science has now given plausibility to the magic behind something from nothing in what was once presumed to be a magical assertion. Science cannot answer why no other species is building telescopes or going to the moon anytime soon. I guess that is just another stupid question people like Dawkins and Krauss can guess at with a plethora of scenarios and call that ‘science‘.
