The United States Constitution is a document that the politicians abide by when it serves them and violate when it doesnt serve them. The United States Constitution simply states what rights that we already had anyway. The U.S. Constitution is something of an illusion because the politicians are using it only with discretion. Example would be the 2nd Amendment that is applied differently regionally or locally. Often even Federally. It is layered in a minefield of legal decisions that means there is no strict adherence to its letter or intent. As such, it is made irrelevant, in effect.
