The University of Arizonas Controlled Environment Agriculture Centre are taking #Hydroponics production to new technological levels with their own Lunar Greenhouse Outreach & Teaching Module. Designed to ultimately grow crops in space, their experimenting to find out exactly how much food production capability it has, the water/carbon balance required to grow prolific crops, the radiation balance (electrical power and lamp output requirements) and finally theyll document the system operational requirements, capabilities and weaknesses. Theyre aiming to grow a combination of targeted NASA crops (lettuce greens, cucumber, sweet potato, and strawberry).
