There is nowhere in the video where the First Lady Mrs. Patience Jonathan made any statement to be construed as an endorsement of any Rivers State gubernatorial aspirant. What is clear and should be accorded its prominence is the First Lady’s appeal to all concerned for a peaceful election, and I join ODO Campaign 2015 in soliciting your applauding the First lady for that. odocampaign/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/DSC_00241.jpg Oseleye Dennis Ojuka has the temperament, maturity, experience, and other qualifications greater than all other aspirants and is the right choice for Rivers State Governor come 2015. Unfortunately some viewers have labelled this video an endorsement for Hon. Wike for his gubernatorial aspiration. One of such comments was posted on Facebook “Amabo MacHarry: Nigerian politics at its best. This is the endorsement that every Nigeria candidate would like to have and Hon. Wike got it.The game is already decided, and he is on his way. The rest should just not waste their time.” I submit to all viewers, that democracy with all the goodness and challenges it comes with requires the citizens to be informed or sophisticated enough to recognize and be able to “decipher truth from fiction.” There is a journalism adage that suggests appreciating the source of information for its authenticity. This adage applies very well when reading statistics also. Appreciating the message raise questions as to if Mr. HacHarry is an agent of Hon. Wikes Campaign? I absolutely respect his Mr. MacHarry’s right and role if he so desires. On the other hand, is Mr. MacHarry a naïve consumer of the message? Rumor is one of the strategies applied in political elections and there are a lot of them going around currently. The voters will decide with this and other information who will be the next governor of Rivers State. I declare for the record that I Winston Amachree am a cousin of Mr. MacHarry and all the Kalabari gubernatorial aspirants, friend and classmate of other aspirants, and volunteer for ODO Campaign 2015.
