The Village of Baldwinsville is currently in the process of constructing a seawall along the Canal on Marble Street. This wall will be approximately 200 feet long and will provide docking for recreational boaters traveling the Barge Canal. Baldwinsville has become a popular destination for boaters and as a result there are periods when the docks located on the upstream side of Lock 24 are full. This new docking facility will provide additional docking space as well as provide a means for boaters arriving from downstream of the Village to dock and visit our business district without having to pass through the lock. This project is partially funded through a grant from the New York State Department of State as part of their ongoing efforts to promote recreational boating along the Barge Canal system. The project is anticipated to be completed in April and available for use this coming summer.
