The WALK event for NAMI Michigan was today. THANK YOU to all the Walkers that joined us on such a PERFECT day ! Thank you DJ Kenneth DjBigdaddy Washington for super awesome music. Thank you Kevin Fischer for a great line up of speakers. Thank you to Dian Slavens for opening up our event.Thank you Tom Watkins from Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority for speaking. thank you to Dave David Ballenberger our Board President for the words for thought as we get ready to vote in this next election. Thank you to Willie Brooks from Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority. Thank you Greg for telling your story. Thank you to Madeline & Eva our youth who spoke of their experiences and their advocacy. Thank you to Amy Miros for the great warm up. Thank you to The Dominique Fischer Memorial Foundation & Detroit Catholic Central High School for the Hamburgers & Hotdogs after the walk. Thank you to Shelene Gilding-Hahn for managing this WALK event; such a smooth running event. Thank you to all our Vendors and Sponsors, and lastly to all the Team Captains that do so much for the state office and affiliates. We were at 100,000 this morning before the WALK even began. We still have 60 more days to FUNdraise, so please dont stop, our goal is still set at $150,000. We can do it !
