The Water Diviner Russell Crowe Rivoli Cinema, Camberwell What a director/actor debut role by Russell Crowe. A powerful story of family, loss, a tragedy of war, a fathers heart ache and commitment to a promise. Compelling scenes being shot from Australia... to Europe. As we get ready to acknowledge the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli, this movie is a very relevant and powerful reminder of the impact of war... from both sides. Already nominated for 7 awards. The cast were extraordinary. Wonderful to see several at the premiere. Especially privileged to hear a few words from Russell himself before watching the film. It was a beautiful gesture of his at the Sydney premiere to place a solitary willow cricket bat in front of the giant screen. Phillip Hughes, Put Out Your Bats for Phil Hughes (before he spoke). The film ticked all the boxes and Im sure it will be well received globally. Thanks for the invite.
