The Well is a new multi-ethnic church plant coming to Seneca this fall. Plans at present are to meet on Sundays at 4 PM at the Seneca High School Auditorium. Our target will be the 15,500 people living in Seneca, SC who are presently unreached and not involved in a church. We will be conducting services at 4 PM starting this fall. (Exact date TBA soon) We have chosen to meet at 4 PM because: (1) That time gives us a better opportunity to reach our target audience. (2) That time in no way conflicts with any other church services. Our next Core Group meeting will be held this coming week. The Core Group is growing as is the excitement and sadly the opposition. Our desire is to simply share the love of Jesus Christ with people who have yet to meet Him. Much like the Samaratian woman at the well in John 4. Her meeting Jesus transformed an entire town! For us its not about numbers or competition - its about reaching people and helping them grow into the image of Gods Son. We HAVE NO INTEREST in stealing members from any church. In fact we have yet to recruit a single person. Every person that has attended one of our Core Group Meetings have come solely because God has led them there. While we have been told that we should intentionally target potential Core Group Members, we have chosen to simply ask God to put the pieces together as it pleases Him. Thus far He has. We are still asking Him for several more Core Group Members as well as an amazing worship team. We are praying that God will continue to lead people our way who share a passion to reach the lost. I personally am praying that God would raise up a few other churches to come alongside beside us and partner with us. I am looking forward, as Henry Blackaby said, to joining God where He is working.
