The Wise County Sheriffs Office assisted The Town of Wise, VA Police Department on a homicide investigation resulting from an incident that occurred in the late night hours on 9-18-14. The suspect, Matthew Wesley Tate, age 28, was apprehended at his residence on Pole Bridge Road by Deputies and Town Police. The Town of Wise Police placed charges of first degree murder, and are in charge of the investigation.
