The Word In Hymns (Mon, 15/09/2014) Trust In God MHB 527 (by William Cowper) ¶ 1. Sometimes a light surprises The Christian while he sings; It is the LORD who rises With healing in His wings: When comforts are declining, He grants the soul again A season of clear shinning, To cheer it after rain. Can there ever be a day without a trial? Can there ever be a month without troubles? Can there ever be a year without sorrows? Well, I am yet to get a yes to all these questions but does that mean we should weep always? NO! Sometimes we must forget all our sorrows and pretend all is well. William Cowper says; at some times, a light surprises a Christian who sings. Note that its not just singing any song but soul-uplifting songs. Music has a lot of power; good music can make you forget that you have not even eaten so sometimes I wonder why people choose to cry their heads off when in trouble, Ill rather sing my heart out than to cry my head off. William tells us some things about our God. He is the one who rises with healing in His wings. So I ask, if I have a God who possesses healing in His wings, is there any need to cry when I am sick? In the last four phrases, William assures us of Gods power to give us a brighter story after the dark scenes of our lives are past. When comforts are declining and it seems there is no hope from anywhere; when friends, family and loved ones turn deaf ears and blind eyes to our stuggles, know that the LORD will grant our souls a season of clear shinning when the rains are past. Brethren, not long ago, the rains caused problems for some people in the country but here we are, seeing bright skies each and every day. The same will happen in your life, the rains will come but they will never last, keep trusting God and know that even the longest day has only 24 hours and there is a light waiting at the end of the tunnel. Be inspired!!! #DineroRussell@MakingHymnsPopular#
