The Word of Today: Battling Fear: FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. In order to control our lives, we must learn to control our fears. Job said, “For what I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me.” Job 3:25 (NASB)” Fear is a magnet for demons. Fear opens the door for the devil. The devil will use fear to open the door for other demons to come and attack you. The more we fear something, the greater the probability that we will get what we feared. Fear is a spirit. For the bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear will draw in the enemy and will make what you speak with your mouth come to pass. Listen to Job when he says, “For what I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me.” Job 3:25 (NASB) I believe Job feared three major things in his life; losing his health, wealth and his family. His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom. ( Job 1:4-5) Satan came to God to ask permission “to touch Job” - God gave it. But the only reason the devil has access to Job - even without permission was because Job gave him ground. Job had FEAR in his heart. Fear is more than an emotion, it is also a Spirit. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of love and of a sound mind .2 Tim 1:7 (NASB) Fear comes to paralyze, disrupt lives, and prevents us from moving forward with God. I’d like to examine some common fears in our thought processes and hopefully some insight on how to deal with them. The first thing is to pray to break the stronghold of fear. If you feed fear it only grows. If you feed your faith, it will grow. We must not only pray but we must use the weapon of love. There are children who are depressed, hurt and suffering for a lack of love.“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love”1 John 4:16-18 (NASB) We must learn to speak to speak the truth out of your mouth. How do you deal with fear?” You tell it to leave! You tell it to get out! Why not forgive the one who has hurt you and then say, “You lousy, sorry spirit of fear and all you tormenting spirits, I have forgiven the ones who hurt me. You are trespassing. Get out.” They have to get out. Love is the antidote to fear. Let go of the hurt and grab onto God’s love. Daily get to know Him. Wake up viewing every day as a gift from God. Prayer keeps fear from returning. “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you Jer. 29:12 (NASB) Not only is he thinking about us. He is listening to us! Nurture a passion for Him. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortune, and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you declared the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.” Jeremiah 29:13-14 (NASB) God wants to bring you to a place in Him where there is nothing to fear, no poverty, no death, and no Fear. Five times here in Romans 8 the apostle Paul has asked questions to draw out the amazing privileges of belonging to Jesus Christ. Verse 31: "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Verse 32: "How will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" Verse 33: "Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?" Verse 34: "Who is to condemn?" And now today verse 35: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" In Roman 8:36 - 39, Paul says, "Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Happy 4th to you. Today, celebrate the liberty that we have in Jesus Christ. "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
