The Worlds next tallest tower will commence construction next week in Saudi Arabia. Taller than the Burj in Dubai, this monster will hit over 1km up. For perspective, a 747 cruises at about 10km - 12km above the surface. The cost of this structure is over USD$1.2 Billion, and the race to build the worlds first 2 mile high structure is on. Sadly, neighbouring Syria could have used these funds to help their starving millions. Yet, the phallic symbolism of outbuilding richer countries continues.
