The Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis states that the Younger Dryas - TopicsExpress

The Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis states that the Younger Dryas cool period 12,800 years ago was caused by an asteroid impact, based on evidence of an impact found at multiple sites, but a study of impact evidence at 29 of those sites finds that only three display ages similar to the onset of the Younger Dryas, and because the remainder of the sites’ impact indicators are of widely varying ages, the finding suggests that either many more asteroid impacts have occurred through time than previously supposed or the Younger Dryas period was not the result of an extraterrestrial impact: nature/news/prehistoric-impact-idea-smacked-down-1.15194
