The airport is full of stories. Everywhere you look, you can see - TopicsExpress

The airport is full of stories. Everywhere you look, you can see the lives of others unfolding. Some of them are mundane. They come, they catch their flight and they are gone. But there are others with more interesting tales to tell, the ones who’s luggage is lost, the one’s whose flight is missed, and the ones who sit for hours on the tarmac because of delays. This story is about one man who was unwilling to give up his rocks. When you are going through security at the airport, you do what they say. They have all the power. The man in line in front of us missed that memo. He was quite perturbed that they were scrutinizing his bag in the x-ray machine. They called him and over and told him they were going to have to search his bag. “What for? What is wrong? Ask me whatever you want to know I can tell you anything.” He insisted that they not search his bag, that it had taken him HOURS to pack and please don’t mess it up. Oh man, this guy had no idea. It had to be his first time flying. They began to search his bag, even as he continued to protest. They actually didnt take long to find the offending rocks that he had packed. They told him, no rocks on the plane. Two rocks can make fire. He had to take them out, leave them behind or go back and mail them to himself. He started yelling that they were not flammable, they were priceless antiques, that they couldnt do this to him. He wanted to see the manager. They told him once again one rock was okay, two can start a fire. We didnt stick around to see if the “manager” was able to help him, but my bet is those priceless antiques are with US Post as we speak.
