The answer to tonights quiz is Crownest Park (better known locally as The Lido) in Stenhousemuir. This was a tough quiz and well done to anyone who guessed correctly. The 2 heraldic plaques - one of a unicorn and the other of a lion - represent that the park is one of 471 King George V Playing Fields across the UK. These fields were established to commemorate the death of King George V. The plaques can be found on the brick pillar at the entrance to the park near the community and health centre. The Lido was also the venue for a great family fun day yesterday organised by Falkirk Council and Town Centre Management to raise awareness of the Lido and the pond following the recent acts of vandalism in the park. Falkirk Council are going to replace the trees which were recently destroyed. In addition, interpretation boards are going to be put in place soon to highlight the wide variety of wildlife and plants that are in and around the pond.
