The appointed Senator from Montana (who was a National Guardsman) - TopicsExpress

The appointed Senator from Montana (who was a National Guardsman) apparently plagiarized his final writing assignment at the Army War College. The writing assignment is a big deal -- it was a major source of stress in my life. I graduated from the same program the year before him -- no excuse for this, particularly from a senior officer. I completed the course while working in a rather stressful job in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, performing reserve duties at US Special Operations Command, and after returning from combat duty in Afghanistan. For years I graded papers for the Army Command and General Staff College, and saw a few cases of plagiarism every year. This is worse than anything Ive ever seen. This is clearly beyond the pale -- and Im disappointed that the Army War College didnt catch it. The fact he was awarded the same degree as me cheapens my degree. The New York Times lays out the exact nature of the plagiarism, which is clearly beyond the pale. If you own a sandblasting business in Carlisle, prepare for a phonecall. nytimes/interactive/2014/07/23/us/politics/john-walsh-final-paper-plagiarism.html
