The approval of APC by INEC is a welcome development and a pointer to the fact that our democracy is growing cos the place of strong alternative views can neither be overstated nor over emphasized, however, there are issues of great importance that needs to be touch lighted else these young party is Dead On Arrival (DOA). First of all the visit by the leaders of these party to former heads of state. Eg IBB is sign of failure cos those coterie of men are the bane of our polite though the role of wide consultation is duly noted but to some extent if we want change then it should not be those ex leaders. Secondly, the lack of a clear cut ideological framework is clearly evident, is the party elitist, masses based, conservative or programmatic. truth be told, despite the criticism leveled against ideology even it critics and supporters alike cannot deny it centrality to party politics. The name progressive is not enough and it is not a symbol of it ideology. Again, the ethnic and religious composition of APC is worrisome cos apart from Rochas there is no other strong Juggernaut from the east. To ignore the wise men from the east is political suicide. lastly, the issue of presidential candidates will make or break these young party. Enough of Buhari and his kind. there are better candidates in the mold of Fashola, Rochas, Sanusi, Ameachi, Tambuwal etc.
