The bears get moose and/or cow bones a few times a week. This is very good for their teeth to chew on which helps them stay healthy. This morning I decided to wedge a moose leg bone in between the trees to make it a little bit harder for Ganuk to get out. Lets face it, he could have tackled that challenge in many different ways which could have taken him less time to figure out, but this morning he decided to go about it the harder way. Today is also the first day of the season where the bears can enjoy a good amount of snow fall. Did you know that polar bears clean themselves by rolling around in the snow? This might be the reason why Ganuk was rolling on his back so much, or it could also be because he just decided to be lazy. The colder temperatures have surely been making our bears feel more comfortable lately, which is bound to eventually make them a bit more active. It is now late afternoon and he is still playing with his moose leg! -Bear Keeper
