The beauty of our evolving democracy, especially in Lagos, is in our ability to have a healthy debate about whose background, ideas and style of leadership is needed to move this State to greater heights. I have always maintained that irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliation, at the end of the day, every voter must ask these basic questions: Which candidates plan adequately articulates my interests and dreams as well as that of my family? Which plan offers me chance to get ahead in life - which could be to start a business, or attend and complete school with the possibility of getting a job, or to access better healthcare for you and your loved ones, or to be simply treated with dignity as a human being? Without prejudice or guile, Im confident that my vision for Lagos does just that. This is why today, I am proud to present my MANIFESTO to the people of Lagos. It represents a formal declaration of my intentions and it highlights the commitment that my government will have to be people of Lagos - in order to be able to leap-frog Lagos into a world-class Mega-City. Lagos, now is the time for a government that caters to the needs of not just to a few elites but to the greater population of ordinary men and women. Now is the time for a government that is committed to securing the future of our youth today by putting our money where our mouth is and refocusing our efforts in education, vocational training, scholarships and the support youth-led businesses.
