The beer can cake I did a sneak peek of yesterday is actually a much sweeter cake than it looked like. It was for a surprise party and I hope it was a terrific time. His wife wanted him to have a great birthday and with all the friends and fun she had planned I cant see how it would have been anything but. Again, I love this type of cake.. so personal and nothing you can just go pick up at the store. It takes a ton of work but I tend not to like to do the same thing twice and love doing new things. I had never made a gravity cake before so this was a good simple way into to it and was so fun to design. This cake is actually a double two layer cake. Top cake is vanilla camo colored cake with vanilla buttercream with white chocolate ganache base frosting. The bottom cake is decadent chocolate with peanut butter buttercream and a milk chocolate ganache base frosting. The cakes were stacked and covered in vanilla buttercream. I used many fun fondant accents including a rice crispy fondant covered rock. Outside of a few toothpicks and a support stick for the beer can it is all editable.
