The best thing Ive learned working for low wages is that our entire consumer driven, service centric, and internist society thrives off of the rich taking everything for themselves by using their power to have unreasonable demands and offer as little compensation as possible. This is true throughout American society, as well as our increasingly elitist artistic spheres. Artistic communities have an obligation to value human life not only in the art created, but in their business practices. Internships and low wages in the arts are immoral because they perpetuate the dominance of the ruling class.
