The best way to understand and learn let go, is from our breathing. Beyond a particular point, if the breath is held back in inspiration, it starts suffocating us and choking us, making us incapable of doing anything else. Similarly, anything beyond a particular point starts become life destroying instead of life enhancing. The moment you let out your breath which you have held back, there is so much relief, so much relaxation and freedom. Similarly, see which areas of your life you are holding on to dearly---money, relationships, job, ideas, beliefs, negativity---and let it go. Your relief, freedom and happiness will be your reward. And this also prepares you for the final let go---death.
