The big Poker game in Indian politics: . Professional gamblers are well aware of the game theory where a move by a player can influence other players to change strategy. In each and every move there is a reaction & counter-reaction. In addition there are bluffers too who make it seem that they have got the best hand. In the end the player who can play the unending cycle of reaction & counter-reaction well emerges winner. . Let us see how the game theory is playing out in the battleground constituency where Narendra Modi is set to fight. . 1) Kejriwal first made the mistake of revealing his cards by declaring beforehand that he will contest against Modi even before Modi declared his constituency. Never declare your intentions to your enemies. He could have evoked fear in BJP if he had said it only after Modi declared his constituency. BJP made plans for him much before he could play his game. . 2) Modi has got already a head start in Varanasi with his rally much before his candidature has been declared. He always had an upper hand. BJP knew it just like all the people of the country that all parties will come together and go to any extent to defeat Modi. . 4) The local strongman in Varanasi who had given a tough fight and lost by a slim margin last time, Mukthar Ansari also foolishly revealed his plans to contest elections if Modi fights from Varanasi. . 5) Muslims will vote as a bloc so that they can ensure defeat of Modi and most votes are going to go to one man - Ansari or Kejriwal. So Ansari & Kejriwal who have a common enemy will actually help the enemy by fighting together. If Anti-modi people vote for Ansari unitedly, Kejriwal wont get even a decent number of seats. He may face humiliating loss. . 6) Now, Kejriwal cant shy away from this battle as he already declared that he will fight. AAP supporters would feel he avoided because of fear and he does not want to look like a coward. . 7) All parties may be willing to come together to beat Modi but Kejriwal cant take their support as he will be seen as a B-team of Congress if he takes their support. All that could have been avoided if Kejriwal had played his cards close to his chest like Modi did till the end before declaring that he is going to fight from Varanasi. Kejriwal has continuously made the mistake of declaring his plan while Modi kept quiet. Otherwise, it would have been a battle to watch out for. . Napolean Bonaparte rightly said Never disturb your enemy while he is making a mistake. Modi the hardcore politician followed it while Kejriwal remained an Aam aadmi without any cunning.
