The biggest problem we have in being able to experience God is, even if we see something in the smaller context, we dont see things in the bigger context. Our finite minds will not let us. I believe this is why people seek fortune tellers and soothsayers. This is where my Faith in a Sovereign God comes in. He does see everything in the BIGGEST context. He has a complete view of it all. So hard for us to imagine. Again, our finite mind will not let us. So, we forget how to live in and for the moment out of remorse, or sometimes even pride, for our past and uncertainty of our future. God wants you to be still, be present. I like that present also means gift. It is so hard for us to laugh and love and give, even cry and lament if we are constantly trying to make sense of our pasts or are worried about our future. God knows the the plans He has made for you (see Jeremiah 29:11). Put your hope and trust in Him and you will start seeing little blessings all around you and how, although not always what you want, He has given you everything you need for the moment. As long as you have breath you have a purpose and are part of a story so much bigger and grand than you can ever imagine. And your hero is Jesus. He isnt just the hero but the author, trust Him to write the story instead of trying to make your own. Even worse, stop trying to be the star in the story. Be the one rescued and stop trying to rescue yourself and everyone else. This is especially true for women trying to rescue men. No man wants to be a Damsel in Distress. We shouldnt play that role either. What Jesus did for all men and women is far more dignified than our feeble attempts at playing the hero. Or the victim. We arent really the victims we think we are either. We dont get this, and we go back and forth between the two. Just be who Jesus made you to be and let Him do the rest. The Holy Spirit will help you to live His story out and to be able to share that story with others. You will only know the story is right when Jesus is the star.
