The bike bit... Was surprised by the head wind going from Pennington Flash up to Rivington. Support was amazing with people shouting for us all along the route - and it was only 8 am. Steve Ashton was on top form, shouting for me at Rivington...always a welcome and encouraging person to find ... The notorious Sheep House Lane was sandwiched between COLT (City of Lancaster Tri Club) Alley, 30 + people shouting, encouraging and willing me on ... And a party at the top of the hill. The next really friendly face was at Buckshaw Village, where I heard fellow Tri club member, Chantel Finley, willing me on. The next welcome site was Karen Fisher and Sean at the top of Hunters Hill - the whole pub seemed be screaming, come on Vicki. The bike course was harder than expected, especially loop two, towards the end of which I spotted Tim Tim Armit and Ruth, an experienced sporting couple who were to prove invaluable support on the run course, later. As I said later, Im sure there wee more hills in the course than in the weeks before when is done recces .... Near disaster - with the smell of T2 so close, fewer than 4 miles to go ad an official stopped us (about 15 of us) and said we had reached cut off and could not proceed. A conversation took place, a quick radio message and the official apologised as he had got the time wrong ... Legged it in to T2 where Marion Morgan Cean Sheepy Gardener Donna Thompson and Steve Ashton made more noise than the other few thousand people there - I was in, with just the warm down (26.2 mile run) to do....
