The breach -- via Professor Flagg: Hello All, I did another overflight of the breach this morning at 10 AM, near low tide and with low winds. A couple of oblique photos are attached as is the photo mosaic. The major change since last month has been the extension of the spit off the breachs western shore which is some 50% larger than in September and larger than it was last October at about this time. Last year a spit of about this size existed well into December before being removed in early January apparently as a result of a series of westerly blows. This spit seems to be more substantial than last years so well see how long it lasts. It is doubtful that the spit will reach Pelican Island as there is a fairly deep channel near the island with significant flow. Regards, Charlie
