The call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and its the most beautiful, beautiful thing, he said. But, I am sorry, its a different story in Ghana. Many of our call to prayers will make you hate Islam. Its only old men who have lost their voices call for prayers and I bet you would want to close your ears upon hearing the sound of their voices. And some will even demotivate you to get up to go and pray upon hearing their voices as a Muslim. All these because we dont want to pay the young and vibrant ones with a melodious voice to call for prayers. I am of the opinion that, we should audition people for Call to prayers and the best ones get picked by mosques and be paying them. Lets also have a voice training for the little ones coming up, so they can grow into it. It still remains my opinion though.
