The claim that the north is being marginalised by the FG does not - TopicsExpress

The claim that the north is being marginalised by the FG does not sound appealing to me. The issue is: is there any part of the country that has not been criminally marginalised in terms of human capital and infrastructural developments? None.. It should be about good governance and not where the man at the centre is from.. In a multicultural country as ours, two forms of government will work for us effectively if well implemented. Benevolent dictatorship and true federalism. The former may look as an extremist intervention but what can one do when all attempts to establish a working democracy keep meeting brick walls. The latter seems to be what most Nigerians are yearning for. True federalism encompasses both the physical restructuring of the country and a workable fiscal framework that is fair to everyone. Also,it will help to decongest the pressure being mounted on the centre...The federating units can proceed at their own pace without any major hindrance from the centre. Of a truth, every tribe has its own Goodluck Jonathan as well as its Obafemi Awolowo. In the meantime, while we struggle and stumble to find the most appropriate governance system that can take care of our challenges and aspirations as well, it is important we begin to look for the various Awolowos in our midst with the aim of thrusting them forward to work us.. It does not matter where such Awolowo is found...What is important is his capacity and integrity.
