The clever people over at SPANX have created some amazing things - TopicsExpress

The clever people over at SPANX have created some amazing things in the past – from light support to industrial strength support garments – all of which I have been grateful for over the years to smooth out my silhouette and give me that little boost which sometimes a girl needs. However, I have mixed feelings about their new SPANX swimwear collection. Available in the US since 2010, Spanx Swim are now launching in the UK, citing Marilyn shaped curves as their inspiration. They feature their signature slimming technology within a spandex and nylon outer, and is fitted by dress and cup size for an optimum fit. The collection includes seven one-pieceses, a tankini, and a skirtini, some of which are available in alternative colour and print options. The designs available in black are by far the best, and most evocative of the Marilyn trademark look. The Riveting Ruched One Piece is my favourite by far, and I am apparently not alone with the Spanx website showing only one of fourteen sizes left in stock. The colours are based around a select few jewel tones, with the prints perhaps not reaching the desired effect of the classic look Spanx seem to be striving to achieve. A Spanx spokesperson explains, ‘We know how to make a woman look and feel her best and are using that knowledge so you can forget the dreaded experience of trying on your swimsuit in the dark, drink in hand. Now you can confidently suit up!’ A worthy idea, yes, but I am concerned I would completely melt while not being able to breathe – a safety hazard perhaps if you are considering swimming – and what about space for a ’99? janedavidson.co.uk/im-saying-thanx-spanx-swimwear/
