The cold night air felt cool against Victors naturally - TopicsExpress

The cold night air felt cool against Victors naturally warm-blooded skin. The stars gazed down upon him like sentient beings, observing him in their infinite wisdom. It was nights like these he felt the most calm, and yet the most uneasy. His mind calmed at the beauty of this world, knowing it had found a shrine of comfort in the turmoil of its everyday living; Yet his heart fluttered anxiously, reminded of its grievous purpose. He was destined for great things, whether they be good or ill, was yet to be seen. He sat in a virtual stasis beneath a great oak tree that had carved out a living on the edge of a cliff overseeing a mysterious valley. To his right, a small stream ran off the side of the cliff into oblivion, the water separating into smaller droplets as it fell to its destiny, whatever it may be. As he leaned his head back against the tree, the soft patter of feet alerted him to the presence of an interloper. Showing no sign of hearing him, Victor remained in stasis, calmly debating the cruelty of his dual nature upon this world. -Mike Davis
