The college acknowledges that DHETFAS payments are very late this - TopicsExpress

The college acknowledges that DHETFAS payments are very late this year. Unfortunately, student unrest caused the college to miss deadlines and this has had a ripple effect on all batch submissions. The college has submitted batches for NCV, S1, S2, T1 and T2 – we are currently processing T3. All of these batches excluding T3 were submitted late due to the refusal of some learners to sign their SOPS. Once the batches are submitted, the college waits for NSFAS to approve them and provide the college with payment letters for each batch that indicates who and what to pay in the batch. We cannot process payments without this. The college has submitted 101 NCV batches and 49 NATED batches to date. To date the college has received batch payment letters for: • NCV batches 2-15 – received on 10/9 • NATED batches 2-15 – received on 10/9 • NATED batches 16 – 21 received on 19/9. o with some SOPS sent back due to errors The college is busy correcting the errors identified – incorrect certifications of ID documents/incorrect ID numbers etc – at the moment and we hope to begin payments to NCV students in these batches before the end of the week. Handing out of NATED e- wallets will be completed next week when students return from the break. We cannot make any other payments other than those that have payment letters. We have made repeated enquiries with NSFAS and DHET. We have been given an indication by NSFAS that NCV batches 24 – 59 may be sent on 26/9. We understand that learners are frustrated here and we are doing the best we can – under challenging circumstances – to address the payments.
