The committee planning the Nigerian Family Fun Day on behalf of CANUK is trying to do the impossible. Very talented and patriotic Nigerians in the UK are trying to put together a FREE Family Fun Day event without a penny of sponsorship. Many of the telecommunications, retail, airline and other types of businesses that benefit from and rely heavily on the estimated 2 million Nigerians in the UK have either refused to sponsor us (on account of the misdemeanour of a few) or have insolently offered us ridiculous amounts and conditions which we have REFUSED. Yet, the Family Fun Day is meant to be FREE for all and the money to do it MUST be raised somehow. This means we will have to rely on the goodwill and kindness of a FEW selfless Nigerians to put together a modest day of fun for the community. I cant wait to finish this event before donning my ACTIVIST gab: “If you cant go back to your mothers womb, youd better learn to be a good fighter.” ― Anchee Min, Red Azale, SHABALA!!! We are going to kick some butts. We will start an economic war against companies and organisations that benefit from our community and still treat us like hungry beggars!
