The conversation on the subject -Modernization of India and its conflict zones. went of very well, in Leuven, a wonderful city in Belgium. Since morning, from Ghent I was travelling either on foot or by road. Visited Brussels and saw exposition of Europalia. Had spent quite some time there too. Auditorium, consisting of teachers, intellectuals and quite intelligent students having a good number of Indians, raised questions about challenges in modernity path India has to deal with. Best part was that two books of mine -The Girl With the Golden Parasol and Walls of Delhi were prominently displayed and had formed the basis to understand Indian society with its actual psyche. I had not taken rest, could not find time to change even clothes or wash my face, everything carried a feel of spontaneity. It was wonderful. After seeing the city and watching new gen students, Im staying tonight at Hotel Binnenholf, just a few minutes walk from the university. Ill write in detail when I reach back to home. Tomorrow morning my flight departs at 10 AM and Ive to leave this place by 7.15 AM. So bye for now !
