The country is hardly in the mess that you falsely claim it is in -- the true facts are the country as a whole is getting better with each passing day as the Bush/Cheney caused economic depression is improving under President Obamas leadership and solid economic plans. Unemployment is now down to 5.9% and the Federal budget deficit has fallen each year of the Obama Administration instead of rising as it did under Bush/Cheney. The stock market has tripled under the Obama Administration. The American economy has grown faster under the Obama Administration than it ever did under Reagan. These are facts which are not subject to dispute irrespective of the warped sense of reality which you want to believe in. The same cannot be honestly said about the state of Kansas. Kansas has regressed under the failed and flawed economic policies of Brownback/Roberts. This, too, is a fact. It is the reason why Brownback and Roberts are losing the election in a hardcore Republican state like Kansas. The people of Kansas are fed up with their failed and flawed economic policies. Trickle down economics does not work and it has been demonstrated not to work time and time again.
