The cry of the Wolf We have this neighbor who sings everyday - TopicsExpress

The cry of the Wolf We have this neighbor who sings everyday for at least 2-3 hours nonstop and has not improved a bit since the first day he came to this apartment about 3 years ago. The first time I heard it, I literally looked out of the window and attempted to spot the injured dog from our balcony. Since then, every time I woke up to this injured dog I thought to myself the poor man should be very lonely and miserable, he probably has no job and thats why he is home all day. I have always imagined him as an unshaved, sloppy guy in his mid 30s who has already lost hope finding a reason to get himself together and go out, work and build a life! In his apartment I imagined there will be dirty clothing everywhere, pieces of half eaten pizza on the sofa, shaving cream with long curly black hair dried around the bathroom sink, dried plants that have fallen into pieces that are stuck to the dirty carpet, closed curtains, smelly socks and underwear and a green bed sheet that had become brown in the middle and a wall full of cum. Our building has many floors and it was not shocking that in 3 years we never came across anyone with this description in our building. I assumed he never goes out unless he needs to take a trip to get money from his parents or something. Or maybe he worked at night. In any case I was sure he stays home all day because I heard the injured dog every couple hours. He had only two songs. One with repeating lalala lalala balahbalah lalala and another with ooooo balahblah blahblah oooooo. The later was so funny and sounded so wrong that at home we started calling the singing neighbor the Wolf. It became an inside joke and me and my then fiance reminded one another every night that we have to sleep no later than 1am or we would wake up to the songs of the wolf. And believe me, no one, NO One wants to wake up to the song of the wolf or the cry of the injured dog. Our other neighbors are a young couple. The first time I met them was a couple of weeks after we moved to this building. I was going to meet my then fiance at a nearby bar and was waiting for him to call me in the lobby where I met them. The wife was a sweet lovely blond lady who spoke so cute and softly that you wanted to reach out and grab her cheek playfully like you would do with a cute little baby girl. She was probably a year or two older than me and so was her husband -a shy polite and very well dressed guy with a funky sense of style-. They seemed to be a busy successful young family. We talked shortly before my fiance calls me.After the call, as they got on the elevator and I waved goodbye, I knew I liked them. A few months after that, I saw the young wife coming back from shopping one evening. She was obviously pregnant with the roundest belly ever. She had bought lots of baby clothing and had several bags in each hand. She opened the first door to the building with such difficulty that I ran and opened the second door for her. We greeted as she gasped for air with a smile and a few weeks after that I started hearing a baby cry. Every now and then I saw them take their cute tiny baby for a walk, daddy was always carrying the little guy and mommy would always take care of the family dog that had a pink leash on! This tiny baby had the cutest clothing on at all times and looked so tidy and happy and comfy in daddys arms that you couldnt stop wanting to approach them and talk to the little guy. But the baby boy was as shy as his dad and even when he was old enough to talk, he would only wave at you with his head down while his daddy asked him repeatedly to say Hi. A bout a week ago, I came down with the worst cold ever followed by days of headache and all sorts of pain and was finally rushed to hospital last Saturday night. That night I got home around 3am totally exhausted and weak, so the last thing I needed next morning was to wake up to the wolf singing his stupid repetitive tune accompanied by the sloppiest guitar. Finally that day, as the wolf started singing around 8-9am, my husband decided to go to talk to the wolf and ask him to stop! And he did! The wolf stopped singing. It was such a relief... I closed my red eyes and turned in my bed while I thought of a long lovely sleep that could take all my pain away and as my half open eyelids started to slowly and painfully close, the neighbors baby boy started to scream so loud that freaked their dog out and the dog started to bark even louder that the boy screaming. As I sat down in bed with my head in my hands, my husband opened the door, came and sat on the edge of the bed and said :sorry babe! Do you feel any better?... By the way, I met the wolf! He is the shy and very polite guy,... you know? the couple? the couple with the cute son and the dog with pink leash!? ... He said he sings to keep the kid busy when the kid is in bad mood! You know whats funny? when the kid cries, he sounds like the wolf (s.sokoot )
