The cry of the end of summer- It is too HOT to cook…(And I am too broke to eat out) DragonMarsh to the rescue! Now is the time to try some tuna/chicken/turkey sandwiches! Clean out the refrigerator, grab those spice blends and make some great quick meals! Basic Dragon’s Kitchen Sandwich Recipe: 2 cups cooked shredded cooked Chicken or Turkey. (Tuna works also)To keep down heat use the microwave or toaster over to cook! 1/2-3/4 cup Mayonnaise, sour cream or yogurt (or a combination) or Thousand Island Dressing 1 tsp lemon juice Mix ins- Mix in One or Ten!: 4 oz shredded or crumbled cheese of choice 1-2 chopped apples 1 cup chopped celery ½ cup chopped nuts 1-3 tablespoon minced onion or dried onion, shallots, or leeks 1/2 cup minced ham and 1 teaspoon prepared mustard. 1/2 cup crisp crumbled bacon. 1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts and 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce. 1/2 cup chopped raw veggis such as carrots or broccoli 1/3 cup pickle relish ½ cup raisins or currents ,dried cranberries or dates ½ cup cut grapes 1 hard boiled egg 1 tea minced garlic 1 tea minced jalapeno ½ cup chickpeas or beans avocado ???? Spices and more Mix in One or Five!: 1-2 tsp Any Dragon’s Kitchen Spice blend Some of our favorites are Curry, Italian, Dessert Spice, Herbs de Provence, Western Dragon, Chipolte BBQ, Cajun, Chinese 5 Spice, Steak & Wild game, or Taco! dragonmarsh 2 tbsp honey, reg or hot mustard 2 tbsp dressing such as ranch or thousand island. Combine ingredients until well blended. You can eat right away but If you let the flavors “set” for an hour it is usually better. Spread mixture on Bread, rolls, leaves of lettuce, crackers, or eat buy the fork…. Try raisin bread or garlic onion bread for something different! You can store the salad recipe filling in the refrigerator up to two days, tightly covered.
