The day after Christmas, I took Diego in to get his little cough checked out. As expected, Diego had an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs. We got all the meds together that he would need. The vet talked about how active he was and how he would run around and wear himself out, to the point where he couldnt breath and HAD to rest. He was SO stubborn! :) 2 days later, I came into our ferret room to get the morning soup going and i found Diego stretched out on the floor of the pen, not moving. He was still with us but just barely. I held him close for a while, warming him up, and letting him know I was there. I then gave Angela the chance to hold him. He passed away not long afterwards. I spoke with our vet and she thought it was most likely a blood clot that took him from us. Either way, our sweet Diego is gone. We both got the chance to hold him and tell him we loved him before he went but he still left an empty space behind...
