The day after Danny and I got married we went Boogie Boarding in - TopicsExpress

The day after Danny and I got married we went Boogie Boarding in the ocean. We were caught in a riptide & almost drowned. Every time we came up for a breath, another wave crashed over us. At the end, the last wave, I saw Danny on shore & couldnt fight any longer. I gave up, & thought..this is it. This was my ending. Completely hopeless & at the mercy of the powerful wave that crushed me, my knee hit the sand & I knew I would be ok. This week, Danny & I were discussing how we feel at this very moment in time. Absolute victory. Its a powerful feeling, one very closely compared to that of a devastating storm that absolutely demolished everything in its path. Seeing the storm pass, coming out from the shelter on the other side, beaten & bruised, but not defeated. The skies clearing, the sun starting to shine. Knowing that yes, weve been through the worst, but came out on the other side knowing that we WON! We survived. We are victorious. God has kept ALL of his promises. Just as we had to give up in the midst of the rip-tide, we also have to let go in life. We HAVE to let go. Let go of the people, let go of the situations, let go of all the crap that we keep holding on to bec we think that we actually have control. When all seems lost & we feel like we will surely drown, God is telling you to LET GO. Completely release it to him. Trusting in him can be terrifying. It has pushed me to my utmost limitations. To the point where I didnt know what else to do but let go. Ive never known a peace, a total & complete victory like that we are experiencing right now at this very moment. Though the world might still be spinning all around you, God will provide. Let go. Stop fighting your own battles & let him do it for you. Youre going to make it. Youre going to be ok. Danny DuBose
