The director of SMC has shared her experience with having been cheated by a govt linked corporation similar to the recent case where Dr Tings patented invention was stolen by MINDEF. Back in 1993, SMC was led on to believe that they would be awarded a tender and had therefore been working with Singapore Technologies Logistics to design and develop an automated storage warehouse solution only to find that they were given many excuses and then cut out of the project and given no credit or payment despite most of the work having been done. How can Singapore develop local businesses when the government acts like this?
