The doctors visit at Childrens went well. Harper passed her hearing test. The surgeon said the back of her palate will need to be repaired (its still open) but not right now. We spoke with a speech pathologist about the trouble we are having with her articulation. She and the surgeon suggested having Harper hold her nose for the sounds she is struggling to say. She was doing it like a champ as soon as we showed her and did it all the way to the car from the hospital. She said Bubba, bath time, bite bite. And we could hear the B :) yay thats a big deal that could mean she hopefully wont need a surgery for improvement in speech. They want me to put her in private speech therapy ASAP. I told her surgeon that people had said me teaching her sign could be why she delayed in speech some and I shouldnt have. He likes the signing and says its a good thing. So Im going to continue to do that also. I just love her surgeon and the team of doctors and nurses that have been so instrumental in her treatment. We are so blessed to have them and a wonderful healthy baby girl and family. Thanks for all the comments and PMs asking about the appointment. It couldnt have been better.
