The documentary film, Revenge of the Mekons is going to be the closing item at this years Leeds Film Festival - And with a showing at The Hyde Park Cinema it should be a great night ;) It features my first ever boss, Kevin Lycett, Mekon and Hill Bandit amongst other things and a friend I still stay in touch with. Im already drifting back to the heady days of the very early Eighties at the thought of it all............ Its when I first trained as a photographer and Kevin had the unenviable task of teaching me how to use a video camera with jobs filming his mates who had also started little bands of their own.......... The Three Johns, Sisters of Mercy, March Violets and Southern Death Cult (The Cult) to drop but a few names. Oooh! And Sally Timms (another Mekon) doing strange stuff with Pete Shelley - Shes ACTUALLY a trained opera singer ;) Eeeeeeeeeeeh! Them weret days!
