The dumbing down of a nation... My problem: Is not so much against the haters, they mostly are already too far gone. My struggle is with the deniers; those who refuse to see or accept the truth, those who unwittingly and stubbornly fuel the misguided and apathetic. Those who willfully lull the complacent back to sleep with their tales of woe and surrender. They take solace in the fact that they believe in powerlessness and have found peace in their comfort zones. If the deniers were in charge; nothing would ever change because they think that nothing else has to be done. Their thesis is that we have a African American president, be satisfied with that, at least no one is getting lynched anymore, be grateful and stop complaining because you are just as bad as those who would take us backwards by stirring up trouble; and nothing more needs to happen... Case closed... Or should I say eyes wide shut. Oh, did I mention that many of them are religious and also suggest that God is going to come down and solve all of our problems; and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Dont get me wrong; I am not knocking anyones religion, all I am trying to say is that I do believe in that old Christian adage that God helps those who help themselves and thats what he sent us here for; to help each other, not to practice denial or defeatism.
