The emergency of the leadership qualities and marketability of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as a generally acceptable electoral material has resurfaced again. Providing leadership at every emergency and duty calls. The defender of democracy has again rising to the occasion. He did it against Abacha, against Obasanjo and now against Goodluck Jonathan and his bulldozing Bamaga Tukur gang of usurpers. Every Student and master of Nigeria’s democracy knows that sooner than later, the ostrich game of Bamanga Tukur and Goodluck Jonathan will soon come to a stop when the bubble bursts. A game of exclusion is not a democracy, since democracy is government of the people, by the people and for the people and not the government of the few for the few and by the few. At any point of political crises, Atiku Abubakar has always been the railing point. The acceptable candidate, no wonder the crises that engulfed the PDP due to “Bamagaic’’ political manipulation and naivety of the president allowing usurpation of power and neglect of great moves of the party. The quality of the character of the man Atiku Abubakar is the reason why he has been drafted again to spear head the spirit in the PDP and look at the caliber of the people to follow him even blindfolded. They know that he is capable and able and does not fight a blind battle. When push become shove the need to recover the party from the attacker arose. Gradually the democracy or “Democratic” in the name of the party was being erased with authoritarianism. They know that President Goodluck Jonathan is not a weight in Nigeria politics. He is a beneficiary of a borrowed goodwill. May be that is why he does not know how to cultivate political followership and unity. They know he has no political base and does not really understand empirical politics. Unfortunately, he surrounded himself with people of lesser minds, political voodoo men, and seekers of power and relevance. They have combined to play dirty politics. Now no matter what, PDP can never be the same again. The president that is suppose to come up with a deliberate plan to checkmate desertion and bring aggrieved members back to the fold quickly , rather went on a war path, closing new PDP party office by police ( exposing the police to politics) and sacking political appointees that were gotten through those that are now trying to leave PDP It’s just like a man hitting his head against a wall, if the wall did not crack his head will crack. He has beaten more than he can chew now. The real PDP has emerged. Where was Goodluck Jonathan at the battle with Abacha? Where were Bamanga Tukur and President Goodluck Jonathan at the formation of PDP? Where were Bamanga Tukur and President Goodluck Jonathan at the foundation meetings and financing of the initial PDP? Who was President Jonathan, if not for the lack of alternative at the fight with Alaimeisgha with Obasanjo? A man of no political experience or pedigree; no wonder this level of apparent ineptitude, clear lack of leadership and lack understanding of politics and politik. It’s our hope and prayers that under Atiku and the able Governors and the original PDP in the new PDP, Nigeria will be returned to true democracy and PDP to true People Democratic Party.
