The emotional debate we all followed on SEDF last Sunday about two - TopicsExpress

The emotional debate we all followed on SEDF last Sunday about two promising professionals in our county was both comical and unnecessary. Comical because it went below threshold ordinarily expected of the two. Unnecessary because the information exchanged was not called for least by anyone. But in my philosophical analysis, let me give this: That both put effort and passed in their KCSE. One with a D+ and another C-. Very close grades in deed! One re-sat and got a B, the other did not re-sit. It terms of fair prediction, if the other one re-sat again it would probably be a B something assuming all other variables remain relatively the same. In terms of career pathways all dealt fairly well with their set of circumstances. One did a diploma in survey, a relatively tough course, while the other went for Para-military training and qualified in the highly respected Recce squad, a VIP unit. Quite admirable credentials in both! One went for Law in a Ugandan University while the other is currently a law student in a Kenyan university, again very admirable elitist effort in the two. One worked at some Law firm in Nairobi while the other is working in a security firm in Nairobi. All these are accomplishments that come with effort and hard work, no mean task indeed, because I personally believe in the cause and effect principle. In terms of the bigger picture thank God in due course we are celebrating two more lawyers in the County! But to settle the current emotional matter my prayer is may the two of you meet one day in a court of Law in Maralal, one as a defence council and another a prosecution council, there then, the public will have the opportunity to judge between the two Amen!!!!
