The expressions of quantity used in English can be quite confusing to Filipinos. Why? It is because the Filipino language is quite straightforward when dealing with quantity—it’s either “marami” for a large quantity, or “kaunti” for a small quantity. It doesn’t matter whether the thing being talked about is considered a count or non-count noun in English.
