The fact that beautiful images will always be accompanied by images of death, loss, and chaotic transition offers hope that, even though we can’t see ourselves making it to that table where death is obliterated, once and for all, by God, we can practice setting that table ourselves. And through this practice of setting a table that acknowledges our fear, our anger, our indifference, our impotence, we also practice the creation of new visions, completely new ways of seeing, for the world, for our loved ones, and for ourselves.
