The family went to Bangkok-Phuket Hospital dental clinic today. We each had a check up, Arthur and I had our teeth cleaned, five fillings among the four of us, two X-rays, and an antibiotic script. It was all done in two hours and the grand total was $270. Wow, no wonder people come here for medical holidays. Im not criticizing US dentists. They are dealing with high wages, high insurance rates, expensive equipment, and lots of overhead that I cant even imagine. But, it would be nice if there were more clinics for the self pay people that keep it simple and share equipment and overhead costs. I dont need my gums poked, X-rays with a check up unless really needed, a big tv to watch, and every latest and greatest gadget. But even with the simplest system, I dont think prices could ever get that low in the States.
